Summer on the waterfront

Melbourne is a city by the sea, and summer is the ideal time to wander further afield from our classic laneways and arcades and take in the waterfront views.
Head to Docklands from 27 December to 2 January and experience the excitement of the Volvo Ocean Race, returning to Melbourne for the first time in over 10 years.
On shore, a pop-up Race Village will give you glimpses of life on board, and also hosts food trucks and a bar. While sailors and sightseers soak up the sun, explore the best bars, destinations and activities on Melbourne’s waterfront.
