Get your education the old fashioned way – talking books, current affairs and other hot topics at Big Ideas in the Pub. Bring a friend or make new ones while waxing lyrical on the important stuff. Held at The Courthouse Hotel in North Melbourne on the fourth Tuesday of each month, from April onwards.
Lego Squad at East Melbourne Library
If you’ve got a kid that goes ballistic for Lego, send them into orbit with the super-fun Lego Squad at East Melbourne Library each Thursday afternoon. Geared for kids aged 7 to 13, your mini-makers can take their Lego lovin’ to the next level with projects on making your own iMovie, graphic novel or stop motion.
Publishing workshop at Library at the Dock
During Youth Week (10-19 April), learn how to whip up your own zine at this free Publishing Workshop held in the sublime surrounds of Library at the Dock. There to help you master the art of self-publishing are zine aficionados, Sarah McNeil and Ashley Ronning. Come armed with a glue stick and let your creativity loose!
