Hello darlings, do you love all things fashion and need some inspiration to start your own fashion label, build a personal brand or find your creative flair?
Lady Petrova from the School of Fabulousness can help, and we sat down with her to find out how she’s inspiring women with her creative workshops.
Why the school of Fabulousness?
I felt there was a need for a positive place to learn, that promotes creativity and being fabulous. When I was studying my degree in fashion design, I was told I would never be a designer because I was too creative and needed to be more commercial. I hear similar stories from customers who visit me at my boutique about not being encouraged in their own creative fields – so I decided to do something about it.
Since I first opened my boutique in Flinders Lane in 2008 I have had ladies regularly popping by to ask for fashion and styling advice, guidance on how to start a fashion label, what to wear to a wedding, even how to do their hair and makeup. All these questions and a love of sharing led me to come up with the School of Fabulousness. A place where you spend time with other creative ladies, learn a thing or two in a positive environment and have an amazing time!
The School acts not only as a place of education and learning but also of community and connection. Many of my customers connect online, and the School will give them a chance to meet in the real world where they might kick start their own creative projects and collaborate with others.
What can attendees expect?
To learn something new, receive their own hand embroidered name badge, be inspired, sip on tea and eat cupcakes, make like-minded friends and leave with a feeling of happiness and knowledge that they have someone who believes in their hopes and dreams.
What topics will you cover?
Diverse subjects such as Starting a Fashion Business, Social media, Creating a Cult Brand, Crystal Jewellery, Flower Crown Making, modern day etiquette and more.
