A small gesture, like buying your morning coffee, can make a big difference. This Friday is CafeSmart, an annual event using Melburnians’ favourite humble brew to raise money for homeless and vulnerable communities.
Buy a coffee from a participating cafes and they will donate $1 to StreetSmart, who will use the proceeds to fund grassroots projects in the area where the money was raised. In 2013, CafeSmart raised $83, 950, which funded 77 projects.
This Friday, let’s try to beat last year’s record. After all, it’s not like we need much of an excuse to buy coffee.
