Arbory Bar and Eatery
Impressively situated just behind Platform 13 at Flinders Street Station, the tree-sheltered Arbory Bar and Eatery features gorgeous views along the Yarra River, across to Southbank. Open from 7am until late, you can pop in for a picturesque breakfast or sample the all-day menu and boisterous cocktail list.
The Boatbuilders Yard
Located on the opposite side of the river at South Wharf, the expansive Boatbuilders Yard sits at the water’s edge in the tree-lined area just behind the Exhibition Centre. The large decking is a sun-worshipper’s dream during summer and your best bet for soaking in available vitamin D during the winter months.
Across the road from Etihad Stadium in Melbourne’s Docklands precinct, the Woolshed Pub boasts spectacular harbour outlook and stunning cityscape views. A favourite for pre- or post-game drinks, the pub also offers a family friendly bistro downstairs and a separate kitchen for fine dining upstairs.
As far as an open-air view over the city goes, the Rooftop Bar is pretty hard to beat. Located right on Swanston Street on the very top level of Curtin House, Rooftop is a Melbourne institution and a must for visitors.
At the Paris end of the city, Loop Roof sits three stories above art bar, Loop Project Space, and features a verdant rooftop beer garden with splendid city views. The heated outdoor area is perfect for a dreamy cocktail escape or an exotic after-work excursion.
Melina on the Rooftop
Melina on the Rooftop is located up on the roof of the Greek Centre on Lonsdale Street and features a vibrant Mediterranean menu, architecturally designed interiors and spectacular views over Melbourne.
