Taking over the space previously occupied by The Sharing House, BangPop aims to deliver authentic, well-balanced dishes in a fun and casual environment. The lego bar is still there and the team behind BangPop, led by restaurateur Paul Mathis, have injected their own sense of fun into their new digs with lots of colour inside and a collection of bikes lining the outside dining area.
The menu is designed to be shared and the large communal tables lend themselves to that. There are old favourites like Pad Thai as well as newer, smaller dishes that offer their own bite. Prepare yourself for some spice, but don’t be alarmed – there are condiments readily available to ensure your dish is just how you like it, and friendly wait staff who will be able to recommend something for your tastes.
BangPop is the perfect choice if you’re looking for a reasonably-priced, fun place to go with a group of friends. Enjoy the true tastes and smells of real Thai food, all without leaving Melbourne.
BangPop is open 7 days a week at 35 South Wharf Promenade, South Wharf.
